TOYS!

I'm ssooooo busy and should be sleeping since I'll be at a casting session all day tomorrow but I had an itch.
Arri SR2 - 16mm: Using this for the film I'm currently directing. Shout outs to my amazing camera crew.
HVX 200 (me licking above): This is probably my favourite of the digital formats I've used so far. Can't wait to use it in HD next semester! Oh yea and they shot Cloverfield with this joint.

RED: This is the powerhouse right here!! Can't wait to get my hands on one of these!! I can't wait to be responsible for the images this camera captures. One word.. SEEEXXYY!!
The camera body will run you about $17,000 (That doesn't include lenses, matte boxes, handles, mounting brackets etc.)

GOTHAM BOUND!
So I know that I’m about a month late but today I FINALLY purchased The Dark Knight on DVD. If you know me well enough then you’d know that I am a huge Batman fan and love just about anything related to my favorite Superhero.
Although many would disagree that TDK is a superhero at all since he fails to possess any “Superpowers” I have to completely disagree. He may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, run circles around is opponents or move objects with his mind. But Batman has the one thing that many other superheroes lack... Angst! He is in a constant state of distress, tormented by the murder of his parents, and he uses that pain as fuel to fight his adversaries. In other words he’s the only hero that is pissed off enough to face criminals. Sooooo Bad ass!
His physical strength may not be at par with the likes of Superman but his psychological profile makes him a worthy accomplice (This means he’s CRAZY enough to do it). Being a billionaire helps a little too haha.
The DVD on the other hand was a HUGGEE disappointment! Obviously the film itself is awesome, but they dropped the ball with the Special Features. This “Two Disk Special Edition” includes the movie on disc 1 (with zero commentaries mind you) and the 2nd disc includes all this random crap that is not insightful at all. As a filmmaker I must say I was tremendously under whelmed by this package.

I know what your thinking… “Why didn’t you just get the Blu-Ray version?” or “Why didn’t you just wait for the collectors edition?” THAT’S NOT THE POINT! Sorry for yelling at you but I don’t have a Blu-Ray player (yet) and I couldn’t wait anymore. My guess is that Director Chris Nolan and ‘em didn’t want to give up all their secrets.
They did include a nifty catalogue though. Maybe I’ll get myself a $79 Batarang Money Clip.
Anyhooo.. I still love Batsy! Any incarnation works for me. Well not so much that 1960 version. Can you say POW! WAM! CRASHHH!

I love you like Batman and Peanut M&M’s
I wanted Superman, but Batman stole my heart.
“I’m an agent of chaos” – Joker [The Dark Knight]
“Your just a little boy in a
playsuit crying for Mommy and Daddy” – Joker [Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker]
“I haven’t been a child since I was 8 years old” – Bruce Wayne [Justice League: Kids Stuff]

Dear Apple,
One question. Why?
Why do your iPod headphones just decide when they wanna stop working? Why do they just start to disintegrate on their own.
See..

At first I thought it was my own natural carelessness that caused this atrocity but I decided to do some research. Turns out the EVERYONE* with iPod headphones has experienced this before. This is an outrage!
[*By EVERYONE I mean my brother and my friend*]
But it wasn't until I was on my way to a friends house when I realized that my earbuds had amplified their last tune so I decided to get replacements....

Oh yea, you better believe I got these old school joints with the microphone. Have me looking like a telemarketer. I don't care though, I'll stay rocking these until Apple gets their act together! Seriously people my headphones look like a car ran over them.

I Sweat Vera Wang
So we have this Lou Lou Magazine party at work..
hold up..
| FREEZE!|
...I neglected to tell you that I work in a clothing store as my part-part-time gig while I'm in school.. ok now that we've cleared that up, back to my story...
So at this party for "exclusive clientele" (riiight) the first 150 customers were given a gift bag with their purchase. Well of course there were like 30 bags left over so you better BELIEVE I was walking out there with a couple bags on my arms.
Well I was able to snatch one. (And by snatch I mean my manager distributed a bag to each employee at the end of their shift). But all of this is besides the point.
The contents of the bag were dull for the most part; Lou Lou Magazine, Dippity-Do Gel, Crasians etc...
But the MOST VALUABLE ITEM was a tiny bottle of Vera Wang Princess. Wooooooooooooooooo! This fragrance is hot hot hot! Gives me that CJ feeling (See: Best Male Singer on Youtube post).
I told myself that I was gonna try and preserve it, you know, use it for special "occasions" but that ain't working out. I need to practice restraint though cause this has got to last until my wedding cause nooooooooo ones trying to buy it.. haha

Shh..
I mentioned in my first post that I had ZERO time to blog because I was wayyy to busy. I kid you not when I say I was up to my eyeballs in school work. No essays or textbooks here. Just cameras, tripods and Final Cut Pro.
My latest project was near and dear to me. I produced a Documentary about the stop snitchin' mentality and how it truly affects urban communities across Toronto. The film was screened at my school and was well received by my colleagues and faculty. I'm soo stoked (yes I said stoked) to show this at film festivals across TO and Canada! Peep these stills..

I also have to madddddd shout outs to my crew. I didn't know these guys prior to doing this project, but I have to commend them for really committing to the vision and working so hard to see it come to fruition.
